Out-of-Home and pDOOH

The ad you

69 %* of Finns skip or fast-forward advertising whenever they can. Outdoor is harder to avoid: only 15 %* say they never notice the billboards in a city centre.

01

When outdoor works

Outdoor builds awareness broadly and supports the other channels when the message has to land without the audience having to do anything. Programmatic buying has also made it tactical: a screen can change its message by time of day, weather or availability. We plan, build and optimise the mix that fits the objective at hand, and we size it precisely.

02

A few lessons from the channel

Not all screens are equal. Location and time of day matter more than the number of screens, and programmatically it is worth buying only the moments when the audience is actually there. Outdoor does not stop at visibility. 8 %* of Finns, around 317 000 people, say outdoor advertising made them visit a website or a store in the past three months. It is a channel that moves people, if the message gives them a reason. Consumer response varies considerably between media, and the content of the message matters just as much in relation to the objective. In general the mix that works divides the assets into three blocks: hero messages, consideration messages and tactical messages. Outdoor needs particular thought about which message to use, and about the nature of the medium. The text has to be readable at a glance and the ad striking enough to earn the look.

How we work

People do the work: a strategist, a planner, a specialist and an analyst. We negotiate the deals and choose the screens by how the audience moves, not from a media owner's ready-made package. Where it helps, the Marketing Engine handles the part that repeats hundreds of times: versioning the assets to every screen size and measuring the results. We give every client the most modern tools in the field for gathering insight, running the advertising and following the results.
